Status before christmas break
Roommate status: barely tolerable....
Lacks: reality, courtesy, respect, a voice
Enjoys: making me feel bad, pushing me around, being manipulative, being passive aggressive, writing little notes like "Will Mr. Tree Leave when christmas break starts?" or my favorite "Leaving food over Thanksgiving break is gross! Please clean out before you go! Eeky poo!"
Could: be nicer, be more patient, communicate better, stop assuming things
Never: talks to me about problems always leaves notes
Hates: when I don't do everything perfectly, when I don't read her mind, when I decided this semester to spend two months away from this apartment, when I don't respond with "cutesie" notes of my own, when I open my mouth, when I stand up for my rights as a roommate, that we ask her to do her part of living here, when we enjoy living in the apartment, when we force her to leave the apartment but doesn't realize we have left the apartment all during finals week.
Tries: to be the most fake nice she possibly can with me, to manipulate me whenever possible
Can't: tell me what to do, where to go, who to hang out with, how I should behave
Wishes: I would be a passive roommate and not say a word
Will never see me: try too hard anymore, work for her friendship, talk to her for any other reason than to figure out the bills
It is amazing to me I have now gone through this twice in my life. Becca if you are out there, I'm sorry, apparently I was wrong in assuming you are passive aggressive because I have a much better example nowadays. The best part is (drum roll) SHE DOESN'T GET THAT SHE HAS DONE ANYTHING WRONG. It is always someone elses fault. Then she leaves little notes that equate to "You didn't do my job for me" or "I know you are incompetent so I'm going to leave this note so you don't forget" or "You obviously won't think of anyone other than yourself, so this is your reminder to think of others!"
Ugh, what next? Notes and phone conversations in Spanish so no one can hear? Little cakes that your band friends bring over that say "I love Cait" and then offer Katie and I a piece? Eating our food and then claiming it as yours? Talking about us in the living room to your mom so that we know exactally what is being said? Staying up till 4 in the morning leaving all the lights on so we can't sleep? Destroying our mail? Breaking things of ours? What next Cait, WHAT NEXT? I'VE ALREADY BEEN THROUGH THIS ONCE!! I KNOW THE SYMPTOMS OF A PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE PERSON AND YOU HAVE THEM!!
